The short version: We collect what we need to make Roam work and get better. We don't sell your data. You can opt out of helping us improve our AI. You control what you share.

1.1 What You Give Us

Account Basics: Email (not collected for users under 13), username, password, and date of birth (to verify age and apply appropriate protections)

Your Creations: The prompts, images, videos, and games you make with Roam

Communications: Messages you send us for support or feedback (parental contact information for Child Users)

Optional Profile Info: Display name and avatar if you want to personalize your account (restricted for Child Users)

Payments: Apple handles all payment processing. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was successful.

For Child Users (Under 13): We collect significantly less information - only username, password, date of birth, and in-app creations. No email, no contact info, no social connections.

1.2 What We Learn Automatically

Device & Connection Info: What device you're using, your general location (country/region based on IP address), and basic connection information

How You Use Roam: Which features you use, when you use them, and what kinds of games you create (this helps us make Roam better)

Technical Data: Error logs and performance information to fix bugs

Cookies & Similar Tech: Small files that remember your preferences and keep you logged in

1.3 From Other Services

Sign-In Services: If you use Google or Apple Sign-In, we receive your basic profile info (name, email, profile picture)

We're constantly working to improve Roam's AI capabilities and features. With your permission, we may use what you create to:

You're in control: Opt out anytime in Settings > Privacy Controls > Service Improvement. This won't limit any of your creative capabilities.

Child Users (Under 13): Content from users under 13 is automatically excluded from Service improvement and AI training. We only use it to provide the core app functionality.

2.3 Keeping Everyone Safe

  • Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse

  • Enforce our zero-tolerance policy against abusive, harmful, or objectionable content

  • Remove content that violates our Terms of Service or community standards

  • Verify that users meet age requirements

  • Protect the security of the platform and our users

  • Report illegal activity to law enforcement when required by law

We use a combination of automated systems and human review to moderate content. If your content is removed and you believe it was a mistake, you can request human review at hi@roam.fr.

We don't sell your personal information. Period.

Authentication Services: Help you sign in securely using existing accounts

Analytics Platforms: Help us understand how Roam is being used so we can make it better

Payment Processors: Handle subscription and purchase transactions securely (Apple processes all App Store payments)

These partners only access the minimum data needed to do their job, and they're contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.

When you make your games public or share them with other users, those creations become visible according to your sharing settings. You control who sees what you make.

We may share statistics and insights that can't identify you individually—like "70% of users create their first game within 10 minutes" or "puzzle games are trending this month."

Roam serves creators around the world, which means your data may be processed in different countries, including the United States.

If you're in Europe: We follow strict data protection frameworks (EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure your data is protected no matter where it's processed.

Security first: We use encryption, access controls, and other safeguards to protect your information during transfer and storage.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

While you're using Roam: We keep your account and creations for as long as your account is active.

When you delete something: Deleted content is removed from our active systems but may remain in backups for up to 90 days.

When you delete your account: Your personal data is deleted, though we may keep some information longer if required by law (like tax records or to prevent fraud).

Service improvement data: If you've opted in to help improve our AI, the learning from your creations may remain in our models even after deletion, but we don't keep identifiable copies of your specific content.

Child Users (Under 13): When a parent requests deletion of a Child User account, we delete all associated personal information within 30 days, including from backups. Child User data is never used for AI training, so there's no retention for that purpose.

6. Your Privacy Rights

You have rights over your personal information. Here's what you can do:

Delete your data: Request deletion of your account and personal data (some legal exceptions may apply)

Roam is rated 9+ and welcomes users of all ages with appropriate safeguards.

7.1 Users Under 13 (Child Users)

Parental Consent Required: If you are under 13, you may only use Roam with verifiable parental consent. Your parent or guardian must approve your account creation.

Limited Data Collection: For Child Users, we collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the Service:

  • Username (no real names required)

  • Password (encrypted)

  • Date of birth (to verify age)

  • User Content created within the app

  • Basic technical information needed for the app to function

What We DON'T Collect from Child Users:

  • Email addresses or contact information

  • Precise geolocation data

  • Persistent identifiers for advertising

  • Social media account connections

No AI Training: Content created by Child Users is NOT used to train our AI models or improve our algorithms. It is used only to provide the core Service features.

Restricted Features: Child User accounts have limited social features, no public profiles, and enhanced content filtering.

7.2 Parental Rights

Parents of Child Users have the right to:

  • Review the personal information we've collected from their child

  • Request deletion of their child's account and all associated data

  • Refuse to permit further collection of their child's information

  • Revoke consent at any time

7.3 Users 13-17

Teens 13-17: You can use Roam without parental consent, but we recommend reviewing your account settings with a parent or guardian. Some features may have additional safety restrictions.

AI Training Opt-Out: Teen users can opt out of AI training in Settings > Privacy Controls just like adult users.

8. Keeping Your Data Secure

We take security seriously and use industry-standard protections:

  • Encryption: Your data is encrypted when it travels between your device and our servers, and when it's stored

  • Access controls: Only authorized team members can access data, and only when necessary

  • Regular security reviews: We continuously test and improve our security measures

Important: While we do everything we can to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. We can't guarantee absolute security, but we're committed to doing our best.

Sign in with Apple: If you use this option, you can hide your real email address. Apple will create a private relay address that forwards to you.
